These terms cover two things: the work we carry out for you (Part A) and the use of our website (Part B). By accepting a quotation, you agree to Part A. By using our website, you agree to Part B.

Part A: Our work and services
1. Who these terms apply to
These terms apply to all supply and installation of liquid screed, self levelling compound, latex screed, concrete screed, underfloor heating and related services (“the Works”) that we carry out for you (“the Customer”). If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
2. Quotations
- Quotations are based on the information you give us, such as floor area, thickness, type of screed, subfloor condition and access. Please make sure it is accurate.
- Quotations are valid for 30 days unless we say otherwise.
- Prices are stated with or without VAT as shown on the quotation. Where VAT applies, it is added at the rate in force.
- We may need to visit the site or ask for photos and drawings before confirming a price. If the site or the job turns out to be different from what we were told, we may revise the price before or during the Works, and we will tell you first.
3. Accepting a quotation and starting work
A contract exists when you accept our quotation in writing (this includes email, text or WhatsApp) or when you confirm a start date with us. We will agree a start date with you and will do our best to keep to it and to the agreed timescale. Dates can be affected by weather, supplier delays, site readiness or other things outside our control, and we will keep you updated if that happens.
4. Deposits and payment
- We may ask for a deposit before ordering materials or booking your date. If so, the amount will be shown on the quotation.
- The balance is due on completion of the Works, or as set out in the quotation.
- Invoices are payable within 7 days of the invoice date unless we agree otherwise in writing. Payment can be made by bank transfer or by another method we agree with you.
- If payment is late, we may charge interest and recovery costs. For business customers this is under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. For consumers, we may charge interest at a reasonable rate and will tell you in advance.
- Materials remain our property until they have been paid for in full, as far as the law allows.
5. Your responsibilities before we arrive
To get a good result and avoid delays or extra charges, you agree to:
- give safe and clear access for our vehicles, pump and team, including access for a ready mix truck where needed
- provide water and electricity on site, unless we agree otherwise
- make sure the subfloor is structurally sound, clean, dry, free of debris and ready to receive screed
- make sure any damp proof membrane, insulation, edge strips and underfloor heating pipework or cables (where not fitted by us) are correctly installed and pressure tested where relevant
- tell us about anything we might not be able to see, such as hidden pipes, cables, voids, drains or damaged areas
- keep children, pets and other trades out of the area during the Works and while the screed cures
- make sure any doors, windows and openings are sealed as needed so that the screed can be poured and cured properly
If the site is not ready when we arrive, or we are kept waiting, we may charge for the wasted visit, wasted materials and lost time.
6. Drying, curing and floor coverings
Screed needs time to dry and cure before it can be walked on heavily or covered. Drying times depend on the type of screed, thickness, temperature and ventilation. We will give you guidance on this, and you agree to follow it. In particular:
- do not lay tiles, wood, carpet, vinyl or other floor coverings until the screed has reached the moisture level recommended by the covering manufacturer
- if underfloor heating is fitted, follow the commissioning and heat up schedule for the screed and system, and do not turn the heating up too fast
- keep the area ventilated and free from heavy loads or foot traffic for as long as we advise
We are not responsible for problems caused by floor coverings being fitted too early, by heating being turned up too soon, or by not following our guidance.
7. Finish, tolerances and normal movement
We aim for a flat, level finish suitable for the intended floor covering. Screed is a cement or calcium sulphate based product, and some hairline shrinkage cracks, minor surface marks, colour variation and small variations in level are normal and are not defects. We will work to the tolerances that apply to the type of screed and the floor covering you have told us about. Please let us know in advance if your floor covering needs a stricter tolerance.
8. Underfloor heating
Where we supply or fit underfloor heating, we will follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Pipework should be pressure tested before and while the screed is poured, and you should keep the test records. We are not responsible for the wider heating system (boiler, heat pump, manifold, controls or thermostats) unless we have agreed in writing to supply and connect it.
9. Changes to the Works
If you want to change the Works after accepting the quotation, please tell us as soon as possible. We will confirm in writing whether we can do it and any change to the price or the timescale. We are not obliged to carry out extra work without an agreed price.
10. Cancellation
- Consumers: If the contract is made away from our premises or at a distance (for example by phone, email or online), you normally have 14 days from the date of the contract to cancel without giving a reason. If you want the Works to start within those 14 days, you must ask us clearly to do so, and if you then cancel you will need to pay for what we have already done or supplied up to that point. Materials that have been ordered specially or mixed for you cannot normally be returned.
- Everyone: If you cancel or postpone at short notice after we have ordered materials or reserved our team, we may charge a reasonable amount to cover our costs and lost time.
- We may cancel or postpone if we cannot safely carry out the Works, if the site is not ready, or if payment terms are not met. We will tell you why and refund any deposit for work we have not done, less any costs already incurred.
11. Our workmanship and guarantee
We carry out the Works with reasonable care and skill, using suitable materials. If you think there is a defect, please tell us in writing as soon as you notice it, and give us access to inspect and put it right. We will not be responsible for defects caused by the subfloor, by the work of other trades, by fair wear and tear, by misuse, by ignoring our guidance, or by changes made by someone else without our agreement. Any separate guarantee we offer will be stated on the quotation or invoice.
12. Health and safety
We take health and safety seriously and expect the same of you. Please tell us about any site hazards, including asbestos, unsafe structures, or contaminated ground. We may pause or stop work if we think conditions are unsafe.
13. Liability
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited.
- Subject to that, our total liability to you for anything connected with the Works is limited to the price we charge for the Works.
- We are not liable for indirect or knock on losses, such as loss of profit, loss of use, or loss of business, unless it was reasonably foreseeable and the law does not allow us to exclude it.
- We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, supply shortages, strikes, or restrictions imposed by the authorities.
14. Photographs
We may take photos of completed work for our records and to show on our website or social media. We will not show your name, full address or anything that identifies you without your permission. Please tell us before the job starts if you would rather we did not take or use photos.
15. Complaints
If you are unhappy with anything, please tell us straight away by phone or email so we can put it right. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and try to resolve it quickly and fairly.
16. Other terms
- These terms, together with our quotation, are the whole agreement between us for the Works.
- We may use subcontractors to carry out some or all of the Works, and we remain responsible for the result.
- If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- Only you and we can enforce this contract. No one else has rights under it.
- These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except that if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
Part B: Using our website
17. About the website
This website is run by KM Flow Screed Ltd. By using it, you agree to the terms in this part. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
18. Information on the site
We try to keep the information on the site accurate and up to date, but it is for general guidance only. Nothing on the site is a quotation or an offer, and it does not replace advice about your particular project. Prices, services and areas covered may change without notice. Photos and examples of past work are for illustration and results can vary from job to job.
19. Availability
We do not promise that the website will always be available, error free or free from viruses. We may suspend, change or withdraw all or part of it at any time without notice.
20. Our intellectual property
All text, images, logos, designs and other content on this site belong to us or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may view the site and print or download extracts for your own personal use, or to ask us about a job. You must not copy, reproduce, republish, sell or otherwise use our content for commercial purposes without our written permission.
21. What you must not do
When using the site, you must not:
- use it in any unlawful way or for any fraudulent purpose
- send us anything that is false, abusive, misleading or harmful
- try to gain unauthorised access to the site, our servers or any connected system
- introduce viruses or other harmful code, or overload the site
- use automated tools to scrape or harvest content or data from the site
22. Enquiry forms and your information
When you send us an enquiry through the site, please give accurate details. We will use your information as set out in our Privacy Policy and use cookies as set out in our Cookie Policy.
23. Links to and from other sites
The site may link to other websites for your convenience. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or how they handle your information. If you would like to link to our site, please link to the home page and do not suggest any approval or connection that does not exist.
24. Our liability for the website
We do our best, but we provide the website “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or from relying on its content. Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited.
25. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page on the day you accept a quotation applies to the Works. The version on this page on the day you use the site applies to your use of the site.
