WHAT IS A SELF-LEVELLING COMPOUND?
Self-levelling compounds are often seen as a variation of the typical liquid screeds used for flooring and underfloor heating. Used in the floor preparation process as a finishing material, it gives you a smooth, even, and most importantly, level surface. It can be applied over existing screed, concrete flooring, underfloor heating and wood.
Application is similar to screed, but the key difference is in thickness; many screeds have to be laid in a thicker layer, whereas self-levelling compounds can be installed in layers of just 1/8 an inch, and for some products even thinner! It is a fairly free-flowing material when mixed up, making it perfect for flowing into gaps and dips. Whilst simple to use, it is difficult to master; it dries fast, meaning a quick-thinking, experienced team is needed. That’s where K M Flow Screed comes in.
